The PPAA1xx in-line power monitor is an ideal device to place in the optical path of your testing setup, so see how much power you have at that specific point in your setup. It allows to quickly find where power is lost and/or where you are at in the measurement sequence.

To place the PPAA1xx in your setup, there are several options.

  • The device has flat sides and can be mounted straight or lying on the back-side. The display can be rotated to make sure that your always have a good view of the power readings.
  • The device has magnets mounted on the back, allowing for installation of the device against a metal surface (horizontal or vertical), or to lie the device back onto a metal optical table.
  • Each device comes with a separate ring holder. This can be mounted on the back of the device. We recommend to not install it over the screw holes, as that would make it more difficult to replace the batteries. And note that with the ring holder installed, the batteries can not be used anymore.
    • The ring can be rotated to the middle to provide a 45 degree mounting angle
    • It can be rotated to the side for a 70 degree mounting angle
    • It can be rotated to the bottom for an 80 degree mounting angle
    • Finally, it can be used to stack several devices on top of each other, by installing a stick/pole on the (optical) table and put this stick through the rings. Note that if you stack the devices in this manner with the long edge, the USB-C interface is more difficult to access.
Use the backside magnets to install on metal surface
Use the ring to install under 45 degrees angle
Or 70 degrees
Or 80 degrees
